The BMW S85 uses a unique radiator setup that comes up quite often in product inquiries. The radiator effectively functions as two radiators in one unit. Each bank of cylinders has its own radiator and thermostat (located in the return flow line). The radiator is divided into an upper and lower system. Cylinders 1-5 (Left Hand Side) flows through the upper system while cylinders 6-10 flow through the lower system (see diagram below).
