The K&N AirCharger 63-3096 air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Cadillac CTS-V models. This system allows the engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. The K&N air filter is made from multi-layers of oiled cotton gauze which improves air flow and can be used up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is necessary (depending on driving conditions). The intake tube is made from carbon fiber to improve the look in the engine bay and to be lighter in weight than the factory system. It is also designed to accomodate the factory MAF sensor and crank case vent fitting. A heat shield is designed to keep out hot engine bay air, and also uses the existing factory mounts for installation
